Revised Nov. 9th 2009

No electrical current is needed. After Plating with cadmium water rinse and swab PS-1720 dichromate on plated area and let stand about 3 to 5 seconds, water rinse and air dry. The longer Ps-1720 remains on the part the darker it the color. If the color is not dark enough after the first application, reapply. If the color changes too fast dilute with distilled water. PS-1720 actually eats into the plating, removing some. If after applying no color change is noted, probably all plating was dissolved. Re -plate a thicker deposit. Parts can also be immersed in PS-1720.
